Packed and Ready

Photo: Meet Mack – Gift, TN

Well, my wife and I are packed and ready to go to Montana on Wednesday. It will be good to get away for a week to recharge my batteries. I am not quite sure what to expect out there because I have never been before. One thing is fairly certain however. That certain thing is that I will see things I have never seen before and may never get the opportunity to see again. I intend to photograph these things.

I am trying not to go into this trip with to many preconceived ideas about what types of photographs I am going to make. Perhaps just as important, I am not thinking about the types of photographs I am not going to make. As regular readers of my blog know, I do not shoot traditional landscape photography. However, I know that Montana will be full of traditional landscape imagery. I might allow myself to indulge a little. I might not.

The point is, I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself to return with a certain number or type of image. When I have done that in the past, it has left me disappointed with the images I did capture. However, as I have discussed before, I usually come around and find images I like in the batch of what I first thought to be a bunch of throw aways.

I believe that our hotel has wifi so I should be able to share images with you throughout the week. We arrive in Montana on Wednesday evening so look for some photos to be posted later in the week. Thank you again to all those of you out there that support my blog. This blog has been a wonderful motivator to keep me out there shooting. I hope I have provided you with at least a few images that make you take at least a second glance.
